Police in new sex attack appeal

Mar 18 2013

Police have made a fresh appeal over a sexual assault which took place in a car after New Year celebrations.

A 33-year-old woman left the Fireballs Hogmanay event in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire with a man in his 50s and was driven to the A90, towards Portlethen.

The driver stopped the car, described as a silver or grey five-door hatchback, on or near the A90 between 1am and 3am on January 1 and sexually assaulted the woman.

They continued to Portlethen where the woman was left shaken but uninjured.

Grampian Police have issued new CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the sex attack. He is in his 50s and is wearing a red hat and a long, dark-coloured waterproof coat.

Anyone who recognises the man can call officers on 08456 005 700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
