Scottish cyclist Neil Fachie has won Paralympic gold with his GB team-mate Barney Storey in the tandem blind and visually impaired one-kilometre time-trial.
Fachie, who is partially sighted, and pilot Storey clocked a world record to win ahead of Spain's Jose Enrique Porto and Jose Antonio Villanueva at the Velodrome.
The Aberdeen-born cyclist became the first Scottish Paralympic gold medallist of 2012, following Glaswegian Aileen McGlynn's silver medal success in the women's cycling on Friday.
Fachie, 28, said: "The atmosphere was electric.
"The crowd pushed us round that final bend. I just can't believe it. To be here winning the gold medal is a dream come true."
Sport Minister Shona Robison said: "Well done to Neil Fachie and his pilot Barney Storey. Neil is the first Scot on ParalympicsGB to gain a gold at London 2012.
"An Olympic gold adds to his already impressive achievements and setting the new world record will be the icing on the cake."
Conservative leader Ruth Davidson MSP added: "To win gold and break a world record at the same time is an amazing achievement for Neil and his Team GB team-mate Barney Storey.
"It's incredible to think that Neil only joined the Para-Cycling team three years ago, so to reach the pinnacle of his sport in such a short time is a tremendous testament to his determination to reach the top."
Dame Anne Begg, MP for Aberdeen South, said: "I am delighted for Neil who has once again broken a world record. His success highlights the sporting talent we have here in Aberdeen, following on from our Olympic medallists last month."
