Gordon Brown has received fresh answers to a parliamentary campaign for the clean-up of a radiation-affected beach in his constituency.
The Labour former prime minister was told by defence minister Andrew Robathan that site investigations into Dalgety Bay were completed on November 23.
Mr Brown was also told it was not the job of the Ministry of Defence to decide whether a clean-up was needed, with that role falling to the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency.
The Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP has faced criticism for not attending the Commons frequently enough since he stepped down as PM in 2010. Mr Brown did not speak at all in the Commons during 2012.
But he has filed a series of written parliamentary questions to the Ministry of Defence in relation to radiation at Dalgety Bay.
