Shell V-Power Diesel - the fuel designed to give drivers ‘more power for longer’ is to hit the forecourts in Scotland. Using the same fuel technology that for the first time ever powered the winning Audi Sport car to victory at the 2006 and 2007 24 Heures du Mans, Shell V-Power Diesel is formulated to offer diesel drivers the highest levels of performance. The launch comes at a time when the demand for diesel in the UK is at an all time high. Diesel sales are predicted to account for 41% of all fuel sales by the end of the year1. This growth shows no sign of abating and by 2012 this figure is expected to peak at 47%1. The number of diesel cars on UK roads has more than doubled over the past six years1, proof of the growing phenomenon which is being labelled the ‘Dieselisation of the UK’. In fact, diesel-fuelled cars now account for more than one in five on UK roads. This growth is being driven by improvements in the quality and sophistication of diesel fuel and diesel engine design. Shell V-Power Diesel is the first and only performance fuel to incorporate the revolutionary Shell GTL (Gas to Liquid) processing technology.
