QUEENS Chairman Davie Rae has criticised Dunfermline for their second late call-off in less than a week. The Doonhamers made a second trip to East End Park on Tuesday night, days after their Saturday afternoon league clash with the Pars was called off. And Rae was frustrated by the decision. He said: “It was very disappointing to have another game called off. “They could have done more to let us know. “I believe the game on Saturday was off because they didn’t put their under-soil heating on. “What annoys me is that the groundsman will have known the game was in doubt. “Usually the secretary would then be told, and he would say to the chairman and a match official would come and give an inspection. “It could have been called off much earlier. “My goodness, we’re going to have a backlog of games now.” Rae was well on his way to Fife when he was told the game was in doubt. And some Queens players had already arrived at the ground. But Rae’s sympathies where with the travelling support who had to turn round and go home. “I feel for the fans – they’re bound to be pretty fed up by the whole thing.” Tuesday night’s contest against Dunfermline would have been a chance for Queens fans to see some of their latest signings. Queens boss Gordon Chisholm has brought three new players to Palmerston. Marvin Andrews, Joe Hamill and Scott Fox all signed before the window closed. The biggest name through the door is Andrews who rejoins the club after his two-month loan spell ended at the start of January. He was released by Hamilton last week, and Chisholm wasted no time in offering him a deal. Chisholm said: “I’m delighted to sign big Marvin. “I was disappointed to see him go before. “He’s got tremendous experience and a certain quality and dominance.” Chisholm has also signed Joe Hamill on loan from Livingston in a part-exchange deal for Stevie Tosh. The deal will be for the remainder of the season. Celtic reserves shot-stopper Scott Fox also joined the club. |
