Parachute headache

Galloway News

A BIZARRE advert in the ‘News’ has given staff at Dumfries and Galloway College a headache.

An advert in the popular Cashpots page on Thursday, October 25 read: ‘Parachute, used once, never opened, small stain’.

The “advertiser” requested £50 for the item.

But the ‘News’ can expose the hoax and reveal the phone number accompanying the advert directs you to the canteen at the college campus in Dumfries.

And staff say the advert is nothing to do with them.

Sally Hammond, of catering firm Taylor Shaw who operate at the college, said: “We have had phone calls for the last couple of weeks. We don’t know what it is all about.

“I haven’t seen the advert but people have phoned and asked to buy it for their mother-in-law.

“We are hoping to draw a line under all of this now. It sounds like someone is playing a prank.”
